The Menphys Service Team have recently relaunched their Family Events Calendar for 2022.
So far, all events have been a glowing success and families have been able to attend 2 inclusive cinema events, 2 private bowling trips, a family trip to Twycross Zoo and most recently a Jubilee Party at The Menphys Hub in South Wigston. These events are subsidised and adapted to support as many families with a child or young person with special educational needs and/or physical disabilities as possible.
Where have we been?
The Showcase De Lux in Highcross were very accommodating for our first event in January, the cinema screen had been adapted for sensory needs such as noise reduction and improved lighting. Across March and April, East Street Lanes were very welcoming and gave Menphys exclusive access to their bowling alley meaning all families and children in attendance had a safe space to relax whilst being reassured other families in attendance were understanding and there was no judgement. Twycross Zoo was happy to host 84 families from the Menphys Family Database at peak times during one of their busiest weekends of the year. Families were provided wristbands to allow them to enter without the need to queue!
Since its relaunch, The Menphys Family Events Calendar has supported around 840 trips/visits across these events and have received great feedback from the families involved. Feedback included:

Looking forward there are lots more event ideas coming up including Alpaca Walking, Canal Boat Trips, Pantomime and more!
