Established in 1970, Menphys is an award winning charity supporting children and young people with disabilities and their families from across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland through the provision of high quality services that value their views and enable their voices.
Our Vision is for a future full of equal choices and opportunities for disabled children, young people and their families, empowering them to live as ordinary lives as possible and aspiring for the extraordinary.
With over 1,300 children registered with Menphys we provide a range of holistic, impartial and empowering specialist services through our own resources and in partnership with the statutory authorities, other voluntary sector groups, partnered businesses and education settings.

About the Role
We have a clear and ambitious strategy and we are looking to add new members to our Board who can provide skills or expertise to play an important role in supporting our growth, expansion and development.
The Board meets 7 times a year and Trustees may also serve on sub-committees appropriate to their skills and experience, and to attend other events as and when appropriate to help support the work of the Charity.
We particularly need to strengthen the skills mix of the Board in the following areas of expertise: equality, diversity and inclusion; education and social care (in particular SEND); finance, tax and audit; fundraising and grant bidding, marketing & communications, retail operations.
We welcome applications from people from all communities and backgrounds as we recognise that a diverse Board is beneficial for the organisation and the communities we serve.
We want everyone to feel valued, included and to achieve their full potential. Menphys is opposed to any form of discrimination and commits itself to the redress of any inequalities by taking positive action where appropriate.
Our Trustee roles are unremunerated.
