Menphys is a local Charity covering Leicester and Leicestershire that provides a range of services to children & young people with disabilities and special educational needs.

Purpose of the Role:

1. Deliver & maintain a high standard of customer service and care.
2. Serve at the counter and handle payments.
3. Display and merchandise donations within the shop and window.
4. Stock rotations to ensure a fresh look within the shop.
5. Comply with Health and Safety legislation.
6. Follow, adopt, and demonstrate Menphys Values.
7. Represent Menphys in a professional and caring manner.
8. Identify visitors’ needs and assist with offering a solution.
9. Assist within the Coffee Shop area (Bell Street) – maintain the public areas – cleaning tables, seating, and floor to ensure these are kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
10. Light Cleaning duties.

Personal Skills:

1. To be friendly and approachable.
2. To possess good communication skills.
3. To be able to work on own initiative and as part as a team.
4. To have a willingness to learn.
5. To be able to follow procedures.
6. To have some experience within customer service or in a shop environment.
7. Demonstrate professionalism.
8. Show confidence in dealing with the public.

Menphys Will Provide:

1. Staff induction and training package including health & safety.
2. Guidance and support throughout your volunteering time with us.
3. An understanding of disabilities and special educational needs.

As the organisation develops over time and the external environment changes, the precise responsibilities of the role are likely to evolve. As a result, this Role Description may require updating, a process which will be undertaken through consultation between the Finance Manager and the Executive Director.
