Looking to develop Charity leadership experience?
Are you passionate about the City of Leicester and the wider County of Leicestershire & Rutland. Are you keen to support the development and improvement of our communities?
Are you an experienced business leader, with existing experience in third sector leadership or would like to develop Charity leadership experience? Do you have experience of working with children, particularly those with disabilities? Would you like to help lead and shape the future of a progressive and vibrant local charity?
You could be just the person we are looking for to become a Menphys Trustee.
Established in 1970, Menphys is an award winning charity supporting children and young people with disabilities and their families from across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland through the provision of high quality services that value their views and enable their voices.
Our Vision is for a future full of equal choices and opportunities for disabled children, young people and their families, empowering them to live as ordinary lives as possible and aspiring for the extraordinary.
With over 1,300 children registered with Menphys we provide a range of holistic, impartial and empowering specialist services through our own resources and in partnership with the statutory authorities, other voluntary sector groups, partnered businesses and education settings.
You can find out more about who we are and what we do on the Menphys website, www.menphys.org.uk.
About the Role
We have a clear and ambitious strategy and we are looking to add new members to our Board who can provide skills or expertise to play an important role in supporting our growth, expansion and development.
The Board meets 7 times a year and Trustees may also serve on sub-committees appropriate to their skills and experience, and to attend other events as and when appropriate to help support the work of the Charity.
We particularly need to strengthen the skills mix of the Board in the following areas of expertise: equality, diversity and inclusion; education and social care (in particular SEND); finance, tax and audit; fundraising and grant bidding, marketing & communications, retail operations.
We welcome applications from people from all communities and backgrounds as we recognise that a diverse Board is beneficial for the organisation and the communities we serve.
We want everyone to feel valued, included and to achieve their full potential. Menphys is opposed to any form of discrimination and commits itself to the redress of any inequalities by taking positive action where appropriate.
Our Trustee roles are unremunerated.
To arrange an informal discussion about Trustee positions available, please contact Ian Caldwell, CEO on 01455 323 020
